I'm actually growing to like it. My sister is CRAZY about DESCENDANTS and Dove Cameron starred there. It's not THAT bad a name... and the birds are beautiful.
A beautiful name! I wish it weren't so rare; the brand names only make me think of a sweet and fresh personality. The perfect name for a character in my book.
Between the associations with the soap, the chocolate, and the bird itself, this strikes me as a very... calm name, if you will. I would think that someone named Dove is a good listener and makes those around her feel better just by being around.
For a masculine equivalent, maybe Dov? Even though it means bear...

Looks like it was on the low end of US charts in the late 1800s. I can see it being semi-popular again. It’s less ridiculous than a lot of the kreigh8tyv names used now.

A spiritual name that symbolizes the Holy Spirit, the symbol which Jesus saw when he got baptized, It's a very delicate and meek sounding name, and it is a symbol of peace. The brand association is a weak excuse to not use this wonderful name. 5 stars from me!
I haven’t met anyone with the name Dove and I can’t think of someone called Dove until I meet one, Dove is a bit of a quirky name but it’s cute at the same time so if I have a daughter I would need to discuss the name with my husband, I think it would make a good middle name as a first name, I just wish it was a nickname for something.

In 2018, 48 is the most common age for an American (U.S.) Dove who is registered female with the Social Security Administration. It is the 16, 541st most common female first name for living U.S. citizens.
This is my sister's name and no, she's not a bird, soap, or chocolate. And she definitely didn't "Dove" into a pool. She's beautiful and so is her name. :)

Very pretty girls' name and I love doves! I don't know if I'd ever actually use it for anything more than a nickname or middle name though...
Dove Cameron is the name of a teen Disney Channel actress, the star of the new show "Liv and Maddie," where she plays a set of twins, and the movie "Cloud 9." I think the name suits her well.
While doves are very cute, I still wouldn't use this. It makes me think of the soap brand. Dove as a name would make me laugh if I heard it in real life.
