Doria Shafiq (1908–1975) was one of the very first women who led to the women's liberation movement in Egypt in the early 1950s. (Could this name be Egyptian?)
In Inkdeath, by Cornelia Funke, there is a character called Doria except he is a boy. I really like Doria on a boy. I was shocked when I saw on here that it was a girls name.

I actually find the name pretty, and it doesn't sound out of place in English-speaking countries like Daria sort of does. The name is simply too close to Dorian, which comes from an Oscar Wilde play, and I hate that man.
