As well as the modern pronunciation "DEE-on", I have heard this name pronounced in English as "DIE-ə-nee", "die-OH-nee" and "dee-OH-nee". I like these much better than "DEE-on".

It sounds sweet and elegant, though I'm rather depressed I haven't heard of it before, being the Greek mytho fan that I am.
