Meaning & History
Appeared in the 1940s and then disappeared again. The equally mysterious Desne is found in the late 1930s and survived until the early 1950s. Desney also occurred in the 1940s and '50s. In the 19th century an isolated example of D'esney has been noted, used as a first name, though it is presumably a Norman surname. Disney is a similar kind of surname, but does not seem to occur as a first name. Desna appears to be a blend of other names. The other forms look like a surname (in various guises) transferred to first name use.
