Growing up, I knew a girl (whom is probably in her mid to late 20s now) named Dena. She voiced how she didn't like her name and everyone thought she was weird for wanting to change it, and they picked on her for it. She had her name legally changed soon as she turned 18 and moved to a different state. Miss her.
This is a pretty name. Dena is both cute and sophisticated. The fact that it's not an overly used name is a breath of fresh air.

I didn't know that Dena was an Indian name. It's my name and I've always been told or shown that Dena was Hebrew for 'Of The Valley'. I have to agree with another commenter that I don't love or even like my name and have seriously thought of changing it.
My name is Dena and I was named after my father Ray Dean, which is special but I have to say I have never really loved my name. I can't see naming a newborn Dena. It just doesn't sound too cute.
