Demetrio Albertini, Ufficiale OMRI, is the sporting director of Parma and a former professional Italian football midfielder and vice-president of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC). He is widely considered one of the legends of the A.C. Milan side of the 90s and a fundamental player for the Italy national team of the same period. He spent most of his career with Milan of the Italian Serie A, winning many trophies, including five Serie A titles and two UEFA Champions League titles with the club. He also played his final season for FC Barcelona, winning the Spanish League before retiring that year.
Demetrio Larena was a Filipino politician. He was the first governor of Negros Oriental (East Negros), a province on Negros Island in the Philippines. He was the vice-president of the Republic of Negros and eventually the governor of Negros Oriental from 1901 until 1906. Larena was instrumental in the establishment of Silliman University in Dumaguete.

Demetrio Aguilera Malta (1909 – 1981) was an Ecuadorian writer, director, painter, and diplomat. He was a member of the Guayaquil Group of the 1930s, who used social realism in their writings. He used magical realism in his masterpiece Siete lunas y siete serpientes (1970), which was translated into English as Seven Serpents and Seven Moons by Gregory Rabassa in 1979.

Demetrio Cortes (1921 – 1993) was a Filipino politician and lawyer. He the first Mayor of Mandaue City and last Municipal Mayor of Mandaue. He served 26 years as mayor. He was also a municipal councilor by profession.

Being English, I find this name weird on an ENGLISH person. But I bet it is probably a nice name if I was from Spain.
Currently I like Demetrio very much. It has a mature, formal, refined vibe without being dated or elderly because it has never been popular. It shares the Ancient Greek Mythological origin with used names like Elio (Helios) but also a Byzantine vibe as Costantino or Basilio (thanks to San Demetrio di Tessalonica).
