Demetria Devonne Lovato A.K.A. the Singer-songwriter, Actress, Ambassador, Entrepreneur, and Philanthropist Demi Lovato. Demi was born on August, 20, 1992 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and grew up in Dallas, Texas. She has 3 sisters Amber Lovato (half sister from her birth father Patrick), Dallas Leigh Lovato (30), and Madison Lee de la Garza (16 year old half sister who Demi's mom, Dianna, had with Eddie, the step-father).
What a beautiful name; very strong sounding and not too common at all. I didn't know it was Demi Lovato's real name, but I don't find this a bad association. Despite not loving her music I find her to be a perfectly admirable person.
"Demetria" holds a very unique quality while not straying to the sin of 'kre8tivitee.' It is very sophisticated, utterly ravishing-- although, the nickname of "Demi" is truly an atrocity. While I am not too fond of diminutives for this particular name, I suppose that "Metria," "Metri," or even "Mickey" would be interesting.
I also would not abbriviate this Demi, as I really hate Demi Lovato (sorry to all you worshippers of someone who punches dancers, starves herself, cuts herself, and got kicked off a Disney Channel show). I would consider Demmie though, or even Tria.
I think this name is really cool, but it always makes me think of an Eastern European/Russian woman for some reason. Yes, so I concur, a really nice name. :)
This name is very beautiful, and I really like it. However, I can't stand the nickname Demi because it reminds me of a certain actress that I'm not fond of.
This is to me a much better name than Demi. Of all the ancient goddesses, Demeter is one of the best to derive one's name from because she was truly the "people's goddess." Demeter was concerned with not just agriculture, but the welfare of all human beings, especially women and children.
There are no such things as vampires. I always loved this name (though I think I like Demetra more). One of my characters is named Demetra, and my friend's character is named Demetria (after my character).
