Oh, I think Deidre is a gorgeous name. Original, eye-catching, charming and absolutely beautiful. What is not clear to me is whether it is a popular name or not. I am a little inclined to say no, but I don't know. Anyway, it is a name that is worth it. Seriously, I love it.

My cousin's name is Deidre. Her family pronounces it two ways: dee•dra and dee•dree depending on if you are from the older or younger generation. She tends to be called Dee Dee. I don't care for either of the pronunciations and Dee Dee is fine when you are 2 or 3 but doesn't work for an adult.
