I'm a female with the name Darian, born in 2008. I like the name, Darian, mainly because it's unique and uncommon, but it just doesn't seem to fit me. I think the name Darian is just fine for both genders, but at the same time, I wish that I had a more girly name. Everyone always thinks I'm a guy and they can never spell or pronounce my name correctly. Otherwise, I think it's a nice name and I'm not planning on changing it anytime soon!

It’s slightly better on a boy, in my opinion. I prefer Dorian, though.
Darian is also a Turkish name, this name is also used in Turkey, Azerbaijan and even in Iran as a Turkish name. But it's an international boy name too as Persian name research website http://NameFarsi.com/?p=2534 says.
I too have this name I think that it's pretty, I think this is a strong, kind name like the person who wears this name should carry it with pride and be courageous for we do hold a lot to be desired. This comes from our inner ability and our name helps to enforce these qualities. This name allows us to be beautiful.

Darian has been my name every since 1973. I didn't like it at first but it's grown on me. I have kids but I wouldn't name my kids after me because I didn't like that name.
The name Darian was given to 263 boys born in the US in 2016.

I am a female Darian, and I like my name! People sometimes tell me I have a strong name when I say my full name, but I don't mind, it reflects my personality well I think. I also like that no one knows my gender when reading my resume. My mom named me after the Gaelic meaning (she is Irish American), small yet mighty, and let me tell you, I am a very short spitfire! Also, I was born in '94, and I suspect that my mom got the name from that movie the last boy scout haha. Notice the spike in popularity around 1992 on the chart? Yeah... that movie came out in 1991.
I named my son this name and I LOVE it... BUT, I had a girl before I had him and Darian was the name I chose for her. I had first heard it used as a girl's name in the movie "Beautiful Girls" and fell in love with it. I had never even heard it before, so I had no previous bias toward it. My husband, on the other hand, actually knew a guy named Darian, so he fought against me naming our daughter this (we ended up naming her Jaydan). SO... when I had another child, and we knew he was a boy, there was no other name he was getting but Darian. Lol, I still don't know the meaning and original (true) origin of the name, but I do lean toward it being a derivative of Darius.
I personally like this name because it's my name. I am a girl and I know 3 other girls my age that have this name as well (early 20's). I don't know how it's "supposed" to be pronounced for a girl but when you say my name it sounds like DARE-ian even though it's spelled Darian.
DAHR-yahn would most likely be a Slavic pronunciation of the name.

This name should be used for males only, especially if pronounced ''DER-ee-an'' rather than ''DAHR-ee-an''. Daria is feminine, Darian is masculine. This is how it has worked with names like Brenna and Brennan, Brenda and Brendan, Trista and Tristan, Eva and Evan, Julia and Julian, and many more. It's become a cultural expectation.
I love the name Darian! I named my daughter after this name but with my own spelling. Daryian. It's totally original just like her. Plus gives it more of a girly flare. :)

I love this name. It's also my son's name. It can be for both girl or boy but I think it sounds more like a boys name.
Darian is a great name for a boy. I love the sound of this name. I don't mind it for boy or girl but lean towards a boy with this name.
