Good, for boys only.
I hate this name for a woman, mostly because of that dreadful B. It doesn't sound feminine. It's one of the first names that used to be a last name.
It reminds me of words like derby and garb. It's not ugly, per se, it just doesn't sound like a name in my opinion.
It's sweet and simple, but doesn't suit as a full name.
Darbie is much much better. I think the name is cute overall but Darbie just seems more professional.
Very cute name!
Unattractive.
Cute name!
Darby is kind of a cute name, however it sounds so cute that I can only picture a boy or a girl below the age of five with this name. It sounds so youthful and a little babyish, but I still love the name. To me, it’s more of a girl’s name than a boy’s name but I like it for either gender.
I think the name Darby is gay and smart.
I love the name Darby (for a girl). It's super cute.
WOW! I love the name Darby, personally it means wisdom, strength, and creativity, but that is a personal preference. All my life I have never met someone named Darby, people make fun of my name saying it is a boy's name, but deep down I LOVE how everyone else got named the most common name ever like MADDIE, EMMA, OR TAYLOR. At school there isn't fifteen other kids with my name, so if your name is Darby like ME, don't be afraid, flaunt it because your name means free of envy of if you go onto Urban Dictionary the top definition of Darby is the coolest person in the world, the center of the world and is sooooo cool, although that was put on by someone named Darby. When I was little I wanted to be named Grace but then I went to my church group and two people there were named Grace, so I love the name Darby and I'm never ever going back!
Sounds completely masculine to me. I like it. Although, the first thing I think of may always be that minor character on Moesko Island in The Ring. XD;
I am a Darby born in 1996. I'm 18 and people love my name. On my mother's side the last name Darbie was in the blood line. When my mother was 8yrs old she fell in love and told everyone she was going to name her first daughter Darby with a "y". My father joined the army when he was 17. His first recon team mission in Lithuania was called "Recon Team Darby" he fell in love with the name and told everyone his first daughter's name was going be Darby. Many years later, a 28 yr old my mom and a 38 yr old my dad met and figured out they were having a girl. It was such a coincidence that when they were both much younger and didn't even know each other they had the same first girl name stuck in their heads. I am part of like .002% of teen Darby's in this generation. I love my name. I get cool nicknames, Darb's, the Darbster, Darbasaur, I like it. And I enjoy meeting other people with such a unique name! Everyone's got a reason behind their given name and I love mine. I wouldn't change my name for the world!
I like Darby more than Darbie probably. Girl or boy.For a boy I also have the strangest obsession with the name Barbie.
I find the name ugly, and it sounds utterly masculine to me. The name would be horrible on females, even the somewhat masculine ones. Darcy sounds feminine to me, though, but this name reminds me of the masculine name Darwin, which is actually a pretty good name. Somehow this one just makes me think of very annoying and snobby Brits.
I have met 3 Darby's. 2 spelled their name Darby, and the other Darbie. I much prefer Darbie.
I love the sound of the name Darby. Boy or girl I am not sure about though. I kind of lean towards girl.
