The connotation with Cyrus The Great is fantastic. A brilliant king who allowed every religion and faith in his empire (almost 600 years before Jesus' birthday). A person whose name is remembered by human rights. Its cool historical background aside, this name is beautifully written and heard.
I quite love this name! I picture a fun, playful, and smart boy with this name. It sounds beautiful and handsome and perfect for all occasions. I can imagine Cy or Russ as easy nicknames. I love this name!
Cyrus is a very handsome name for a boy and it also regards as elegant. Miley Cyrus is a very great association and I love her music, and this is her surname. Cyrus does not make me think of a girl, just because it’s her surname and she’s a girl! As a first name, it’s strong and masculine and it’s great for a boy!
My best friend's name is Cyrus and he very kind! I really like this name!

My son's name is Syrus. He's 9 years old and likes to introduce himself as Sy and thinks Syrus the Virus sounds cool. He likes his name, he's often complimented on his name and he doesn't get made fun of. I told him about the Great Persian King named Cyrus and he thought that was awesome.
I don't really like Cyrus (the appearance and pronunciation don't do anything for me), but I can see it in a more "old-fashioned" setting... somehow, when I see it used on young children at present, it seems diluted, comical, artificial and overblown, and in perfect name trend of recent years (which tends to include anything remotely pretentious, or kre8tiv). Cyrus seems a bit pompous to me.
I really like this name. It's strong and classic, but very uncommon. I've never met a Cyrus in my life. But... As much as I hate to admit it, I do think it may remind a lot of people of Miley Cyrus because its so uncommon as a first name. It's a shame, too, because it's a great name.
I like this name, and it doesn't seem as common as other biblical names. However, the association with the ghastly Miley Cyrus prevents me from liking it more.
Cyrus was my Grandfather's name, and is now my son's middle name. I love the name, it's different and almost exotic sounding. It makes me think of a large, strong, tough man. Like my grandpa.
