Meaning & History
Latinized form of Greek Κτήσυλλα (Ktesylla), derived from Greek κτῆσις (ktesis) meaning "acquisition, possession, property", which is ultimately derived from Greek κτάομαι (ktaomai) meaning "to acquire, to procure for oneself" as well as "to possess". In Greek mythology, Ctesylla was a maiden of Ioulis in Ceos, daughter of Alcidamas.
