I don't see this name as "un-masculine" at all. Cory may sound a bit boyish to some but personally I think it sounds energetic and lively. It works great for either gender, and if anyone wants to use it on their newborn, I say go for it!

*** Cory = Heart *** I agree with the comment about its meaning. Yes, it sounds like it means heart. I would give my future son or daughter this meaning as a first or middle name, -- Heart. I'd keep it current, and I love the words heart. It is humble, lovely, calm, simple and it maintains life. Its symbolism is all about serenity and strength. It reminds me of the poem by E.E. Cummings, “I carry your heart with me (carry it in my heart)” *** That's my take ***
I looked up Cory and Corey on Wolfram Alpha, and I am surprised to learn that the most common age of a U.S. male named Cory or Corey is 21. (This data is for 2018.) I would have thought at least a decade older, because it seems like such a 1980s name to me. I like the sound of Cory, but I think it will be a long time before it comes back into style.
Yeah, Cory is not a very manly name because I sure always wanted to be called like Mike or maybe Dan or you know Michelle- that's a really great man name or Tracy maybe, what's another good man name? Kim Kenny and some of those are great names like Carry. Cory yeah that's my name.

I just can't picture a grown man with this name. I mean, it's not the most childish name I've ever heard, but it definitely doesn't sound mature. To me, it sounds more like a nickname yet I can't think of any name this could be short for, maybe Corbin? Anyways I picture a skater guy in his teens with long blonde hair and always gets into trouble when I hear the name.

My oldest son is named Cory, I always did like it, it's not a little boy name. My Cory is 22 years old, 6'7 in & weighs an appropriate 175/180 so he is far from little.

My thoughts on Cory is that it's a really nice and decent name.
Cory! Very strong name. I prefer it as a male name. It reminds me of a protector. Someone that would fight for his love and beliefs. It is also Irish. Strong name.
This was going to be my name if I had been a boy. My name was going to be Cory Donovan, and then I ended up being a girl. My parents had one more kid together who they named Ryan Keith and then my dad had a son with my step mom who he named... Cory Donovan. That kid is connected to me for life. This name is cool in that it's one of those names you can have fun spelling. Cory, Coree, Corey, Kori, all sorts of stuff.
Cory is taken from the root word for heart in Latin "cor": the Medieval Latin word cor (heart; mind, soul) which was derived from the Proto-Indo-European root "kerd-". This Latin word is the one which gave the Romance languages their words for heart: French - coeur; Spanish - corazón; Portuguese - coração; Italian - cuore; Provençal - cor. So, the English meaning for Cory is heart, tender hearted, brave hearted.
