Actually, to the person who mentioned Clarise, there is a French version of Clarice, spelled Clarisse :)
Clarice is a wonderful name, very pretty, but when I used it for a character I spelled it "Clarise" with an S instead. A few other people in the world spell it that way, though it's still uncommon, and I think it's prettier that way.
Clarice is also used in Italian, alongside Clarissa. In fact, it was the name of Lorenzo de Medici's wife.
