Hillbilly-sounding.
Might as well name them "Chunk" if you're contemplating this...
Sounds like a name a hillbilly would have.
To Chuck something means to throw it. It can also mean to throw up.
Okay for a pet but strange on a person. I prefer Charlie.
It rhymes with suck, f*ck and yuck. The right words to describe this name.
I know a young twelve year old with this name. He originally went by Charlie, but as he got older he felt it was a little childish so he now goes by Chuck. I would never give this to a child as a full name, but it makes an alright nickname.
Funny name.
I know a man named Chuck, he's one of the best people I've ever met. He's a devoted Christian, and he'd give you the shirt off of his back. He's very good with kids, and he's a jokester. He's a lot of fun. I don't really care for the name though, but the name doesn't make the person. Some Chucks are very nice people, not all are evil people.
Yuck. Very unattractive.
I loved being named Chuck! I always felt unique. I would name my boy Chuck. Yes I got called Chuckie, Chuckles, Chuck the Duck, Chuckie Duckie, and last but not least was “What’s up, Chuck? Get it ha-ha”! It was all good for a laugh. The only problem I had was when there was another Chuck in the class that the girls liked better! Real pain every time they called his name and not mine! Lol!
I love Chuck as a full name. It’s so strong and handsome. But I don’t like Chuck as a nickname for Charles. I prefer Charlie as a nickname for Charles. Some good feminine forms for Chuck would be Chucka, Chuckine, and Chuckette. But don’t use Chuck for a girl, or maybe?
So many horrible people carry this name. Chuck Schumer, Chuck Todd, Chuck Grassley - yikes!
For me, is the best and original nickname for Charles.
Well, this name is okay. It's a bit old fashioned but it does give the impression of a likable kinda guy. It's a lot better than those trendy, pretentious sounding names that are popular today like Aiden, Jayden, Hayden etc. Chuck is also usually a shortened form of Charles, it's a bit odd to have someone just named Chuck.
I like Chuck as a nickname for Charles, mostly because it's my dad's name... Some people call him Chuck the duck.
I can't believe no one has mentioned the show "Chuck"! The main character is Chuck Bartowski/Charles Carmichael. I recently found this show and quite adore it.Previously, I have loathed the name Chuck. It sounds like someone vomiting. To upchuck. But the show made me hate it less. I still don't *like* it but I don't get sick just thinking about it anymore. As much... :)
Even Charles "Chuck" Norris couldn't save this name. Goes to the same category with Chip. Just horrible. And this reminds me of squirrels for some reason.
When I hear the name Chuck I think of a 40 year old chubby guy that lives in his mother's basment.
This is one of the worst names out there (right up there with Dick). It rhymes with a certain four-letter word. Also, it sounds too close to the word, upchuck. Yuck!
I don't know exactly why, but I really hate this name.
Doesn't this mean to vomit or throw up? Why would you want to name your child after a sick smelling substance?
Save this name for the hillbillies. I do know one Chuck though, Chuckie Cheese. hee-haw.
Urghk! What a horrible name!
