Meaning & History
Feminine form of Chrysogonos. According to some sources, this was the name of the mother of Minyas in Greek mythology. Edmund Spenser used this name in his poem The Faerie Queene (1590; in the form Chrysogonee), where it belongs to the mother of Belphoebe and her twin sister Amoret.
