This name makes me happy. It looks like a light shining through crystals and glowing across ancient Cathedral walls. It tastes refreshing and crisp like a sweet green apple. Chrissie is warm and personable, Tina is bright and playful. Saying Christina feels like singing. What a wonderful name.

Christina is one of the most beautiful names, with a religious meaning that's just perfect. Christiana is great too, and Christine is my least favorite, but good. I don't like these names spelled with a K, because we don't spell the word Christian with a K.

A very nice Christian name, although I prefer Christiana.
I agree with the other people who have said that Christina is a good name for your daughter when she is born, and Chrissie, Christy and Tina are ok as optional nicknames (obviously this isn't a baby names site, but people might just use the subject to refer to what they were called when they were little, before realising what their full name was when they started school, with records and documents).
Very common, yet beautiful name that can be shortened into many different nicknames.

Christina and its many various spellings have mainly died out after being hugely popular in the 70s and 80s. You don't hear many little girls being given the name Christina, Christine, Kristina, Cristina, etc... at least I haven't. The name is pretty no matter how you spell it. As for the religious aspects of the name I don't read too much into it, after all most names have some religious meaning. I've only known a couple Christinas growing up and they spelled them differently one was Christina and the other was Kristina. As of 2020 Christina is ranked 621, Christine died out by 2019 not on the top 1000 list, Cristina hasn't been popular since 2013, Kristina hasn't been popular since 2017. So maybe one day the names will make a comeback, who knows...
I really love this name. I'd consider it for a daughter. It also has a very special connection to me. I have a special person in my life named Christina. Christina is the best spelling in my opinion.
A timeless classic, beautiful and strong, with nice nicknames too. I would use this for a future daughter, especially because I have a good friend named Christina.
My mother's name is Christina, and she is the opposite of a brat. She literally puts everyone above herself. She's helped me a lot, so it really ticks me off to see people hate the name.

Quite pretty, maybe a bit dated, but it sounds pleasant and pretty. Also has a variety of nicknames, so if the bearer dislikes it, she can be Chris, Christy, Christa, Tina, or whichever she would prefer. I still prefer Christine.

Ugly bratty like name. Ew.

Christina is a pretty name and I honestly prefer this spelling over Kristina because this one looks better to me for some reason. I read a lot of people complaining about nicknames for Christina, but Christina is a female version of Christopher so I don't see why someone named Christina can't go by Kit if someone with a name that starts with Christ can also go by Kit. It's a cute alternative and less dated than nicknames like Christie and Tina. I personally would use Kit if I had a Christina, it's a strong name and I feel you don't have to be devout to use this name- honestly biblical names are so common and used that it's hard to avoid and not make that connection with even simple names like Mark.
My given birth name was Christina. In early elementary school I asked my family to call me Tina after reading a story “Tina the Ballerina”. Can’t believe it but, everyone obliged me, except my father who continued to call me Christina. As an adult I always wished I had continued to go by my birth name, Christina. I think it is a beautiful name but I really dislike Chris and don’t care for Tina either!
I like this name! I think this C and T compliment each other well! I like the meaning too. It’s feminine and strong, like another user said. Beautiful!

I like my name. I always wanted to change it to the Spanish spelling without the H since it was supposed to be without the H but I have grown to like it as it is. Like others have commented, it is always mispronounced. I'm not quite sure why so many are insistent on changing my name from Christina with the big A at the end to Christine. As much as I would like to let it go I always over-emphasise the A when it is mispronounced. I'm pretty sure it has to do with generational practice of changing Spanish names to English names. This really gets me though, given the nurses did just that when they took it upon themselves to change the intended spelling Cristina to Christina with an H.

Hi all, my name is Christina and I love it. My family always had a cabin on Christina lake, it is my family’s happy place. I am the youngest grandchild and I was lucky enough to be named after my entire family’s happiest childhood memories. My sister named me, I never associated the name with religion only clear water, fresh pine smell, happiness and family.

My name is Christina, I love it! It's related to Christ and all its meanings! It is strong, powerful, generous, and full of heart!
I like this name. The spelling with C is beautiful. Also Christina Ricci is my favourite actress. The only thing I don't like is the association with religion. If I ever have a daughter I might name her that.

My name is Christina, at first, I didn't like it because no one really had a nickname that I liked. But after I read some of these comments, I feel a lot better about my name. It's not the best but it's my name, can't do anything about that. It's your name, you should love it no matter what, you shouldn't wear your name in a bad way.
I had a friend named Christina but when she became a teenager she decided to go by her middle name, Michelle. I preferred Christina and think it's a nice name that sounds feminine but strong. I don't like the nicknames that follow it... Christi, Chrissy, Chris, or Tina. The name is awesome enough not to have to have a shorter form to take away from it. I also love the religious and royal links to the name.
I really dislike this name and I dislike it more with time. It's a complete "basic girl" name. It's way too common, especially in some countries where there will be at least five other Christinas around. The meaning isn't that great and there's far too many religious associations as well as with Christmas. And it's not really beautiful or strong or cute or sexy it's just blah, it just wants to be all of those things. As far as classic/old fashioned names go it gives off a far too girly or bimbo vibe, it's not fitting of someone with an intriguing personality and it's my least favourite of the "-ina" names.Christine sounds older but more French and classy. When I see the spelling Cristina I think dark, long hair, Spanish Catholic. The 'K' spelling makes it more exotic. But not to be rude but when I hear the name Christina I only think two things: plain, pale, dark-haired girl (Christina Ricci) or more commonly a really unattractive female in heavy, caked-on makeup and hair bleach wearing trashy clothes that don't fit (Christina Aguilera) and the associations make me cringe.A lot of time people with this name have no idea which nickname fits best, but all of them like Tina, Chrissy, Christie/Cristy just sound basic and give off a kind of unintelligent vibe. One of my relatives is named this and she hates it. I would say choose a name that's more decisive in what it wants to be.

I am a Christina and... well, I am really unsure whether I like it or not. I am an atheist, so I really can't associate the meaning of my name with me. The name sounds really foreign to me, for the simple reason that I always get called by some sort of nickname- either Chrissi or, to my absolute distaste, Tina. I HATE the nickname Tina, yet everyone, including my family, defaults to it. And, the more I think about it, the more cold the name sounds. Cold and clinical. As for it being common- in Germany I've only met one other Christina. It's actually fairly rare (and it seems to be going out of style) where I'm at.The crux of the matter is: I have a very hard time truly accepting the name as my own. And as an atheistic, freckled, brown haired and blue eyed rascal, I just feel like the name doesn't suit me.I just wish it had a different meaning, and was prettier instead of the cold and distanced thing it is.
Christina is a nice name, but a bit too common. So consider the other spellings Krystina, Kristina, Cristina, and Crystina and Christina comes with nice nicknames, Chris and Tina.
Well, my opinion is that if you are called Christina, you can be called all the other versions as well. I happened to be born on Christmas day and I just like the other versions better.
My name is Crystina. I have never met another person named Christina or anything at all. I think that my name is oddly spelled, but oh well. I actually hate my name but I guess it makes me unique in my own way.
My name is Kristina because I'm Croatian :)the meaning of the name is follower of Christ, obviously (I am indeed Christian), anointed, guardian... I like the name, it sounds beautiful^^.
Well, my name is Christina and personally I believe it is a wonderful name. It's formal and classy and I don't know one person personally that is named Christina, and if they do have the same name it is spelled differently. The ratings describe me basically to a T. My close friends and family usually call me Chrissy. Sometimes I am called weird nicknames such as Chris, Tina, Christy, Christine, and by my cousin a few times, Christian haha. I was named after Christina Aguliera (suggested by my parents) and my grandma encouraged it considering she is a dedicated Christian. My middle name is Suzanne (after Suzanne Somers) which I believe really compliments my first name because of its similar classy/mature nature. ♡♡♡.
Well, personally coming from someone whose name is Christina, I've always hated my name. It reminds me of a guy's name which is exactly that if you switch the A and the N. But, everyone always tells me how beautiful and formal my name is. So it's kinda grown on me. Christina is a very powerful leader-like name.
My name is Christena, spelled slightly differently than most versions of the name. I personally adore the name. It is unique and peaceful. I have met very few other Christina's/Christine's, etc in my life, with a maximum of 4. I love the name and find it to be well associated.
I love the name Christina! It's a very beautiful classic. It's a very popular name and I can't help but love this name as it's so pretty! :)

My name is Christina. I was born in the 60's, so there are a lot of women with my name, or the variant, Christine in the world. I get called Christine a great deal--which I don't like. I know it is just one letter difference, but that's not my name.It has a good choice of nicknames available... Chris, Christy, Chrissy... I am called Tina by my parents. I go by Christina in the real world.I don't dislike my name, but always wished I had a more original name.
I love the name Christina! I think it's a very graceful name! I have also seen it spelt 'Kristina', which is very pretty as well! Christina would make a great name for a newborn baby girl!
The only Christina I've ever met was a very mean, hurtful person. :( But I still think it is pretty. It sounds very mature.

Beautiful, classic, timeless name. I would not name my kid this name because it is really common, however, I am a fan of this name. I love how it is a strong feminine name, and a beautiful sounding word.
I am also a Christina. I really like my name. My mom wanted to name me Tiffany and my dad wanted to name me Christina. I'm so glad that my dad got his way. I also get the Christine thing and the people who can't spell it, and it's not because they don't know what letter it starts with! But honestly I like my name and I can't think of anything else I'd want to be named.
I am, yet another, Christina. I've only known one other Christina, but she's always called Christina and I'm mostly Christie but sometimes Christina. It isn't a burden having a popularish name, in fact I love it when I meet other Christinas and I'm like "THAT'S MY NAME TOO! WOW..." I like my name, but I hate the short form Tina. It sounds like a stripper to me for some reason. More specifically, one in high heels and hot-pink fake nails. But Christie/Christina is wayyy better. Christina is, to me, THE girl name. It can be girly, it can be tomboyish, it can sound professional or personal, fun or serious. Kind of like Alexandria. Oh yeah, I'm Christian, so I like how my name means a Christian. It sort of reminds me to be faithful. Haha I just plain like my name. It's so perfect for me.
Christina is my middle name and I love it! My first name and my middle name (Grace Christina) together sound elegant and beautiful and strong. My great grandma was named Christina (who I'm named after) who was all of these things:) xoxo
This is my name. I don't really like it. It's boring and unoriginal. I mean, she was going to name me Arianna. That's 100x more original than this overused and played out name! The good thing about it is that it'll age well, sounds fairly pleasant, and will look good on a resume, unlike "Brooklynne" or "Muhkaela".
This is my name too! Like another "Christina" on here, I too, was not aware of my name till an older age. I too, thought my name was "Tina" and I never like the name "Tina". I found out when I was entering kindergarten! Now, I go by my full name and love it. It was a name that took growing into. It is a bit of a mouth-full, but I deserve every one of those syllables!
Being a Christina myself, I gotta say that it is indeed boring, and the religious aspect of it puts me, and many others with my name, off to it. On the bright side you don't have to worry about people mispronouncing it or discriminating against it. Just constantly spelling it wrong and shortening it, I've grown to loath the names Chris, Chrissy, Christine, Kristen and Kristy. It's also a little annoying always absent mindedly spelling my name when I'm trying to spell Christmas, or being constantly referred to as Christina Aguilera, as if I would find that clever or flattering. Overall, if you're going to go with a classic name I think Christina is a really nice one, it's just really common. I think non Christinas like it more.
I like the name Christina but there are too many in my family so I'd never use it. To me, the name is super popular. I think it's pretty but don't like the way it gets butchered. The various nicknames 'Chris', 'Christy', 'Chrissy', 'Tina', etc. I don't like at all.
I too, am a Christina, and I've got two nicknames that I like: Stina, and Nina. Christina is a lot less popular now than it was in the 70's and 80's; I doubt my daughter will have any friends named Christina.
Christina is my name and I love it! I think it's a very pretty name and other people tell me that too. It's really cool that I have all the characteristics of my name that are in 'christinaiscool's comment. Lolz. But there are some things I hate about it. 1. It's wayyy too long! wow! 9 letters! 2. Too overused. I know like 3 other Christina's 3. My history teacher used to call me Christine for a long time and it was really annoying 4. People always spell Christina wrong! I don't understand why they cant spell it! It's Chris and Tina combined! Very simple lolz! 5. The fact that my name is all about religion. I'm Catholic and I don't even believe in god.
This is a pretty bland name, too common and absolutely overused. I hate the nickname Chris and think the nickname Tina is much better. The good thing is that the name can't possibly lead to discrimination, as it isn't trashy or immature, but gosh, how boring it is.
I'm an Christina. But I often go by Christy, which I perfer by FAR. I've gone from hating my name to liking it okay. But I recommend Christine if you're considering this name. By the way, if you're named this, NEVER let anyone call you Chris. I have a cousin named Christopher who goes by "Chris" and a grandma (which is both of ours) who insists on calling me Chris. It's a big pain for both of us.
My name is Christina I love this name. My mother says I don't look like a Christina but I act like one. I don't know if that's a bad thing or a good thing yet. Lol. Anyway I agree with most of you but I am a follower of Christ and I love music and art so I don't know, you tell me if I'm a Christina. I have had people call me all the way from Katrine to Chrissy. I didn't even know my name was Christina till I was 10. I thought it was Tina.
I'm named Christina, and I get called Chris, Tina, and Chrissy. What's really annoying is the fact that people often call me Christine; I've even had Christine printed on name tags for certain events. Very frustrating. I agree that Christina is kind of overused. But often people named Christina are regularly called by a nickname. I like the meaning of the name, and try to live up to it!

My name, but I prefer Christy. I'm not fond of being called "Chris" mainly because my mother disliked that variant.I'm not crazy of my own name but I seriously can't imagine it in any other way. I've had this name my entire life.

I think that I really would have loved this name much more had it not been so nauseatingly popular. I have met at least fifty Christinas in my life. It's a pretty name, but FAR too overused.

I really like this name. It's my friend's name, and we call her Nina for short! And my friend looks excatly how I would imagine a Christina: Long, wavy dark, hair, tall, brown eyes, pretty.
I've always thought this was a good name, but it kind of loses points for me - it's my middle name! My name is Natasha Christina (boo for my Slav heritage), and I think that sounds very odd and far too long. It would be nice paired with a shorter/simpler name.

This is my name and I think it fabulous! The only thing I hate is that it's so long. 9 letters. I've always had the longest name in my class. I think it's a great name, but it might be too common. I know 5 other Christina's.
Christina I think sounds rather cold, but it's nice. It's my middle name and women on my mother's have had this name ever since my great great great grandmother changed her name from Saga to Christina. The weird thing is that on my father's side most of the women are named Christina too. Sadly I think I'll be the first one to break the tradidtion, I'm not sure yet.
This was what my mom wanted to name me, but my dad said no. It is kind of too bad because my birthday is July 24, and that is one of the namedays for Christina. I really like this name; I used it for someone in one of the books I am writing.
I am a Christina from Hong Kong. So far I have only known 2 Christinas, including me. But THAT Christina is in the same class with me. I think Christina is a gorgeous name. However I think this is relatively long. Anyway I LOVE MY NAME!
My name is Christina, but I live in Norway so there aren't very many people here with the same name as me. I'm not Christian, so when I read 'christinaiscool's comment I felt glad, and I hope it's true. People who comment my name always says they think it's special and it's pretty, which I think too!
My name is Christina and I love it. I am deeply a believer in the lord and I will agree that it is very popular but to the girl who said Christina was overused just because people mess her name up which is Christine and call her Christina. Well people call me Christine all the time and it bugs me. They also call me Tina, Chris, Chrisa, Christa, Krissy but that's just because it's similar. So get over it. God bless you.
Christina is a pretty name, but it's gotten too popular. And it means "Christian", which in turn means "Devotee of Christ"; there's many Christinas who are not deeply devoted to him.
My name is Christina and I'm not so fond of my it. It's too popular for my liking. I know at least 4 other Christinas and it gets annoying when I think people are yelling out MY name to somebody else.
The name Christina also means 'beautiful'. It is a holy name becuase it comes from Saint Christina. People who own this name are very creative, sometimes bossy, and are good leaders. They are hard workers, and are sometimes perfectionists. All in all this name goes out to good people.
I agree with "christinaiscool". I am a Christina and most Christinas that I know fit that description, especially with creativity. I have also read the meaning of Christina is "flower of Christ". Which is ironic, since I was born on Devil's Night. As for nicknames, I go by Chrissy.
Christina doesn't mean "beautiful" and you can't say a Christina has a special personality. I've known a snobbish, mean Christina and a sweet, intelligent Christina.
