This name is not bad, but only for someone who was born in summer in Japan. I can't imagine a Japanese girl, Chinatsu born in e.g. spring, autumn, winter.
Chinatsu Wakatsuki is a Japanese variety tarento and former gravure idol. Her real name was Chiharu Kurihara (栗原 千春 Kurihara Chiharu?) before she got married. She is represented with Platinum Production.
I really like Japanese names, especially this one, because each part has its own meaning. This name in particular seems cool to me and I like its meaning, so while I would personally not use it, it is a great name in my opinion.
In the manga "Mademoiselle Butterfly" by Akane Ogura, one of the main characters, who's a boy, is named Chinatsu. He's a tattoo artist! XDHe's awesome.
In 4 years of living in Japan plus a few more years of making friends with various Japanese people, I've never heard of this name except on this site. Knew 1 Minatsu and a few people named Natsuko or Natsumi or Natsuki, but not Chinatsu. Rare name.
