I would not say this is the modern Hebrew form of Hannah, rather that it’s the original Hebrew form, since Hannah is derived from this. Can be spelled Channa, Chana, Channah, or Chanah. Wow. I have a relative by the name of Chana, and English speakers get so confused when they learn her name, as the Ch is not the Chuh sound (like in such, or choose etc.) Rather, it is the Hebrew letter Chet (Ches), or the Kh, Ch, or H sound. (Look it up. Other people familiar with this sound include Arabic, Yiddish, German speakers, etc)
