Carpus

In Bulgaria "Carpus" ("Karpos") is not used as a first name, but the root "karp" ("carp") is present in the Bulgarian surname "Karpuzov" ("Karpuzova" for a woman). Most probably it comes from Greek, because "karpuz" (the stress is on the "u") and "karpuza" (the stress is on the "u") are one of the Bulgarian words for the fruit "watermelon".
