Catalan cognate of Camino, taken from the title of the Virgin Mary, Mare de Déu del Camí, meaning "Mother of God of the Way."
She is the patroness of Cambrils in the Catalonian province of Tarragona. She is also venerated at the church in Granyena de Segarra in the province of Lleida as well as the one located in Santa Maria del Camí on the Balearic island of Mallorca.
