A great masculine name. I chose it for my first son because it's a strong, masculine name that isn't bizarre or faddish. Also sounds normal when it's shorted to Cam.
I know people named Cameron. They’re alright, but they’re rude when they want to be. I don’t like the meaning that much, but the name itself isn’t too bad.
My significant other is named Cameron.Personally, I didn’t like this name much before I met my boyfriend as I was bullied by a girl named Cameron in middle school. I thought it sounded like ‘camera’ (I believe most people do), and I just found it a bit tacky, for lack of a better word. It’s quite funny how people can shape your perspective of a name! Now that I’m in a committed relationship with a lovely Cameron, I think the name is quite nice. I don’t think it’s tacky at all anymore and I actually find it to be quite professional and mature sounding, especially considering the fact that my boyfriend is English and it’s said quite nicely in his accent. It’s not my one of my favourite names, but I like it a lot more than I used to and I think it’s a great choice for a child. My boyfriend often goes by Cam as a nickname and I really like it. I like to call him Cammy just to tease him, which I think sounds quite cute!
This name is so stupid I hate everything about it and the people who have it are braindead idiots who don't know what to do with their life so they sit around bullying people.

I think someone has scrambled up the word Romance and decided to name their son that.

It’s very close to “Camarón” which means shrimp in Spanish.

I think its meaning has made it one of the ugliest names in the world.
Simply a name that screams master manipulator gaslighter and bullier.

Love it on a girl, not so much for a boy.

If you want to name your daughter this, choose Camerona or Cameronia instead, they are definitely more suitable for a girl. But if you insist, your daughter might hate you.

One of the WORST and I mean WORST names in the world, here's why : the name Cameron is like the boy version of Karen every Cameron I have met in my life has been rude, mean, stupid and A BULLY.

This name is an ok name, but it isn’t my style. It sounds like “camera”. I think this name is good for a boy’s name. Cameron doesn’t sound like a girl name.

Sounds like "Camera". Still, I think it is a nice name! R.I.P. Cameron Boyce :(
What's kinda funny about my experience with this name is when I first heard it, it was because of Cameron Diaz, a female (I don't live in an English speaking country), but over time, I failed to see it as a feminine name and I much more like it as a guy's name, but a female can pull it off as well. For a girl the nickname Cammy or Cammie is great and a guy can go by Cam. Plus, nowadays if I had to tie it to a celeb, I'd tie it to the late Cameron Boyce.
Plus, I really like the fact that it's a unisex name, but it's still primarily a guy's name, unlike with other unisex names, where the ratio is much more equal or leans towards female.
My sister's name is Cameron and I've always been jealous. We always wished we could switch names. Mine is feminine whereas hers is masculine but I always thought it made her more interesting and one of a kind!

It’s alright. I only like it for a boy. For a girl, I prefer Carmen.
The mammalian nose is a natural compass. Our sense of direction is located in the nose with the sinuses reacting to subtle environmental changes which can be compared to the ebb and tide of the oceans. If something is "crooked" or "bent" it is not boring, mundane nor straightforward. Therefore, the name Cameron suggests to me that he or she "makes their own way". Cameron is headstrong, a leader who traverses the least likely path and no two of the same name are alike. Individualistic, unique, daring, and rebellious by nature, Cameron surely leaves his or her lasting impression anywhere their direction points their attention. It's a strong name that is sure to spearhead new frontiers in a direction no one expects.
Cameron can be used for both girls and boys but I think girls named Cameron won't fit at all, especially not "Kameryn" or something stupid like that. People think that name is cute but it just looks like you have bad grammar.
I’ve always loved this name! I feel like it goes good with either gender.

Hello, I have read a ton of messages about this name! Frankly I don’t give a darn what anyone thinks! I named my daughter Cameron solely because I heard the name from Cameron Diaz! And I absolutely love the fact that it's more rare for a girl to be named it! I never even heard or knew any males named Cameron in my life when I gave my daughter the name! And the name suits my daughter to a T! Sometimes girly and sometimes tough tomboy! She’s 15 now and goes by CAM!
GREAT NAME! Although of the meaning, it’s okay because another meaning you can create is the honoring of the recent passing of Cameron Boyce.

I really like this name! However, I prefer and visualize it on boys more than girls. Plus, I kind of laughed when I found out it meant "crooked nose". But I don't let meanings ruin a name... I just settle on the name itself.
My name is Cameron. I believe that my name is a wonderful name and if I were to have a child their name might be mine in the fact that most Cameron's are kind, sweet, and comedic in (almost) every way. Almost always they make the others around them erupt in laughter.
Yeah, this is my name and I'm a male but only 15 years old... I somehow found this site, and it's crazy because almost no one I've met had my name, it feels shocking.
I love the name Cameron. I have been a Cameron for 16 years and wouldn't wish for anything to change. Quite frankly I am offended at the comments suggesting it is only a boy's name considering I am a girl with a beautiful nose so take that. Ha. Ha. ha.
My name happens to be Cameron, and I also happen to be a girl. I will admit it is definitely a more masculine unisex name, but it is in no way a totally 'masculine' name. I was not named after Cameron Diaz or any celebrity, I was named after my great great grandmother. I also dislike the variations that make an attempt to make it more feminine, it just messes people up and now I have to spell my name out to people. I have met two other Cameron's, one being a boy and the other a girl. My parents in no way named me Cameron in an act of defiance to gender norms (That's so dumb). And I don't really think avoiding naming a kid Cameron because it means crooked nose is smart.
I read a few other comments on other websites saying this name is 100% a male name and stuff. It made me cry also when they said it was a unisex name. My name's Cameron and I'm a girl. My mom named me after Cameron Diaz. Most people in my school thought of it as a boy name... actually... my first boyfriend ever broke up with me because he thought I was unisex... For me it really could be either. I've met boys and girls with the name Cameron. Please don't call it unisex though. I hope my name doesn't effect my future...
It's a bit young sounding for my taste, but it's a cute name for a boy and makes me picture a sweet kid with a big heart. I think it could work for a girl if she had the right kind of personality, like a tomboy or a hard rocker type, and the nickname "Cammie" sounds very feminine to me. I still prefer it for a boy, though.
I LOVE THIS NAME! I think Cameron is a lovely name and I think it's a good name for a boy, not a girl. If this name was given to a girl I think it would be stupid.I would like to name my first son this as a middle name because I think it shows the meaning of pleasure and strength.
Great for a boy (and for a boy only, no matter the spelling) Tamren\Tameron on the other hand works excellent for girls.

Cameron is quite an interesting name. It was a name used for women mostly instead of men where I came from before America, so I have a hard time seeing any masculinity in it. However, USA has surprised me with how carefree its names are. All the same, I find the name Cameron to have a very in-depth show of character, regardless of its translation.
I love this name for a boy so much! Cameron is a very handsome name! :D.

I have a neighbour named Cameron. She is a girl. Ever since I was little, because of her, I thought that Cameron was a girls-only name. Lol Although I still see it as a far more feminine-sounding name (thank my neighbour's mom), I can still sort of imagine it on a boy :)

I love the name Cameron, it's so cute for someone of all ages especially the nickname Cam, It really started to grow on me. Which is odd because years ago I was the girl that said this "is an ugly boy name to me now." But maybe a change of associations makes me love the name it's like really awesome middle names are, Cameron Aiden, Cameron Xavier, Cameron Marcus, Cameron Elliott, Cameron Ryan and Cameron Edward. I personally love Cameron Aiden the best out of the whole list.
This name is nice but through my 8 years of school I've had at least 3 Cameron's in each of my classes. I suggest that nobody names their child this. It's a good name but it is overused in America.
I like this as a males name only, regardless of the spelling. Changing the spelling doesn't change the pronunciation. Just makes a male name look feminine and prissy. Even the nickname, cam, sounds male.Very nice name, but for a male only.

I MUCH prefer this name for a boy. To me, it's masculine and all boy.I hate it on a girl, especially when they change the spelling to like kamryn. (Ugh...) lolDoesn't matter that this site has it labeled as unisex, Cameron will always be a male's name to me. (:

As a female Cameron, I used to think my name was just "bleh" and kind of plain. It wasn't cute or girly to me, but then as I grew up I realized I'm not very cute or girly either. I love the name now, because it's not terribly common where I live and it fits my tough, tomboyish personality. If anyone wants to name their daughter Cameron, I say DO IT! That goes for sons too! But all the male Camerons I know are feminine, so don't be surprised if their gender role is all out of whack!
I positively love this name for a boy- and a boy ONLY. Cameron on the male gender sounds regal and mature. I can easily image a quiet, sweet boy with curly hair and kind eyes that holds all the knowledge in the world. It is perfectly fine for a boy- but I cannot say the same for a girl. It is clearly obvious that this is a MASCULINE name not feminine, but at last the creatures know as the trendy parents want to do whatever it takes and change that. *sigh*No matter what you do with this wonderful male name it will forever remain the same. Even if you try to spell it "creatively" and make it more "feminine" And besides, on a girl it sounds trendy and disgustingly awkward and seems like her parents really wanted a boy instead of a girl. Can't anyone give their daughters strong, classic FEMININE names? Thanks.
My husband's name is Cameron, so obviously I love it! I once heard of a guy named Cambron. which just sounds like you are saying "Cameron" with a stuffy nose.
I think Cameron is a cool name for a boy. NOT for a girl. I would consider naming a future son Cameron because it is strong and modern without being too crazy. Cameron is a surname but is one of those surnames that are cool enough for a first name. Awesome name.
How is this a pretty girl name?! In no way is this name feminine, and I'm starting to think that people are just going to name their daughters any male name they want, no matter how masculine it sounds. That's what it seems like its getting to, because Cameron has always been a boy name until the immature generation of cutesy, childish, and masculine names came about. I don't think I'll ever understand how this sounds like it would fit a girl; I can't see it on a girl of any age, especially not an old woman! It makes me want to vomit. One more thing, spelling it "kamryn" or whatever horrible crap your kre8tiv little minds think up is just... I don't even know what to say. I guess it'd be like naming your daughter willyam, thomys, or michyl. Ok, now that I got that off my chest, I have to say that I do really like this name for a boy. Unfortunately it's popularity has made it sound like more of a little boys name, but I think personally it will suit all ages with dignity. And the nickname cam is adorable :)

This is my official ugly boy name but pretty girl name. All the girls I seen with this name are pretty but all the boys look wrong and have a messed up looking nose. So this is a major no-no for me.

I know a VERY good-looking Cameron, and like the sound of the name. The meaning is very unattractive, though.
This is a cute name, but the meaning is just plain bad. The popularity as a feminine name is annoying too- people, please keep Cameron for the boys (and being "creative" and "feminizing" it as Camryn or Kamryn isn't going to cut it).
I like this name on a guy. I can also tolerate it on a girl, I guess. It's not really one of those names that SCREAMS masculine... like Wolfgang. Or Maximilian. Or... you get my point.
I think Cameron is a lovely name for a girl or a boy. But I think it's ridiculous to spell it as Camron or Kameryn or some other weird spelling. It loses all of its appeal when it's misspelled.
I absolutely love the name Cameron for a boy! As well as Cam for a nickname. However, I definitely don't think this spelling is suitable for females--I'm not even a fan of the female variant Camryn.

I love how this name sounds, and everyone I've ever known with 'Cameron' as their first name has been very nice. I think it can be both masculine and feminine. Too bad it reminds me of the British politician David Cameron.
I really dislike this name. On a boy, it sounds like the name of some dimwitted surfer. But I really hate Cameron on a girl. This name does not sound feminine. Spelling it Camryn or Kamryn doesn't make it any more feminine than it already isn't. I'm also not too fond of Cameron Diaz.
I think this is a lovely boys name, not so much for a girl. For anyone who wants to name their daughter this, I think they should consider Carmen instead.
Every Cameron I've known is a handful! If I'd have known that before my son was born, I wouldn't have named him that. He's been trying to live up to the "bent nose" every since he was little!
Again, like Campbell, I find it odd that someone would want to use this name as a first name, especially for a girl. It has a rather odd meaning. If it was some relative's maiden name or something of that sort, it would be understandable. "Cam" is a cute nickname, but if you're choosing the name for that nickname, there are other feminine names out there beginning with "Cam."
I don't like this name on girls and women at all. It's actually quite a good name for men. When it's used for girls, it just sort of seems like the parents think feminine names are inferior to masculine ones, and their daughter is so much cooler and above all the girly girls out there, that they have to name her something masculine becasue it's cool. Well, it doesn't sound all that cool on a woman who isn't young anymore.
I absolutely LOVE this name! I don't know if I like it any less now that I know it means "crooked nose." =P I like it for a boy, but I don't think it would sound very nice on a girl. However, if that were the case, I agree that "Kameryn" is a much more feminine and cute spelling.

I like this for a girl, but LOVE it for a boy. A nice nickname could be Cam, which was the nickname for a kid (male) in my school.
A nice name. I don't like it much more on a girl though, especially with some godawful spelling like 'Kamryn.'

This used to be my favorite girl name, but I'm over that state. Although I have to say I like it besides my dislike of Cameron Diaz. The only Cameron I know is a boy and he is a royal pain, he's just a bad person.

I'm pretty sure it's a guy's name, but I like it as a girl's name too.

This name is only popular for girls because of Cameron Diaz. I do not know anyone with this name, boy or girl, but I think it is much more suitable for boys. It sounds and looks masculine.
Cameron (Camshròn) does sound like a good, gender-neutral name, but think about what it means: "crooked nose". Not exactly a charming thing to say about someone.
