Now that I’m in a committed relationship with a lovely Cameron, I think the name is quite nice. What's kinda funny about my experience with this name is when I first heard it, it was because of Cameron Diaz, a female (I don't live in an English speaking country), but over time, I failed to see it as a feminine name and I much more like it as a guy's name, but a female can pull it off as well. For a girl the nickname Cammy or Cammie is great and a guy can go by Cam. Plus, nowadays if I had to tie it to a celeb, I'd tie it to the late Cameron Boyce.

Plus, I really like the fact that it's a unisex name, but it's still primarily a guy's name, unlike with other unisex names, where the ratio is much more equal or leans towards female.

My name happens to be Cameron, and I also happen to be a girl. I will admit it is definitely a more masculine unisex name, but it is in no way a totally 'masculine' name. I was not named after Cameron Diaz or any celebrity, I was named after my great great grandmother. I also dislike the variations that make an attempt to make it more feminine, it just messes people up and now I have to spell my name out to people. I have met two other Cameron's, one being a boy and the other a girl. My parents in no way named me Cameron in an act of defiance to gender norms (That's so dumb). And I don't really think avoiding naming a kid Cameron because it means crooked nose is smart.

It's a bit young sounding for my taste, but it's a cute name for a boy and makes me picture a sweet kid with a big heart. I think it could work for a girl if she had the right kind of personality, like a tomboy or a hard rocker type, and the nickname "Cammie" sounds very feminine to me. Cameron is quite an interesting name. It was a name used for women mostly instead of men where I came from before America, so I have a hard time seeing any masculinity in it. As a female Cameron, I used to think my name was just "bleh" and kind of plain. It wasn't cute or girly to me, but then as I grew up I realized I'm not very cute or girly either. I love the name now, because it's not terribly common where I live and it fits my tough, tomboyish personality. If anyone wants to name their daughter Cameron, I say DO IT! That goes for sons too! But all the male Camerons I know are feminine, so don't be surprised if their gender role is all out of whack!

How is this a pretty girl name?! In no way is this name feminine, and I'm starting to think that people are just going to name their daughters any male name they want, no matter how masculine it sounds. This is my official ugly boy name but pretty girl name. All the girls I seen with this name are pretty but all the boys look wrong and have a messed up looking nose. So this is a major no-no for me.
