I love the name Byron. I think By is a terrible nickname though! Byron reminds me of a very strong masculine name which makes me fall in love with it!

This is an extremely bad name. It sounds unpleasant and unattractive yet obnoxiously trendy as well. Today, while shopping at a store, I heard someone calling for a little boy no older than the age of 4 or 5 by this name and trust me, I wanted to roll my eyes right then and there. Please do not saddle a kid with this name!

It is impossible for me to hear this name without associating it with Lord Byron. He was an abusive husband, a bisexual pedophile, sired a child with his half-sister, and left another daughter to die in a convent while refusing to allow her mother to raise her. Add in his financial irresponsibility and his character is certainly not one I would like to associate with any son of mine. His affinity towards animals was at least a noble aspect of his character. If one can ignore his undesirable proclivities, his physical attributes were also not too desirable: short, chubby and gimpy.

I love this name, but the meaning is certainly horrible. Pretty name, anyway.

I don't know if I could take any kid seriously after learning about the poet Lord Byron (last name but still). That's quite the name to live up to. What a man.
I know a lot of people don't like the name but I actually love that name! Once someone told me that name sounds like an old man's name. Lol, I respected her opinion but, to me, I don't think so. My opinion - the name sounds mature, special, intelligence, and sweet. =)

The sound is quite unpleasant, and the name is pretentious anyway.
