Sounds too much like brute and brutal to be used for a boy. It would be a great name for a large dog like a Pit Bull, Doberman, or Mastiff. Or maybe a Chihuahua.
I just noticed that there is a small typo in the description. It should be "conspired to assassinate Julius Caesar", meaning you should remove that -d from "assassinated". :3. [noted -ed]
Junius Brutus Booth was a 19th century Shakespearean actor and father of John Wilkes Booth, a Confederate sympathizer who assassinated Abraham Lincoln, the 16th U.S. President.

Brutus means stupid, unwieldy, or dull. "Brutish" is the best-fitting definition.

Brute, sounds good too. As in the quote from Caesar "Et tu, Brute". Brute means "my Brutus" then.
