Blažej

I have been told that Blazej is a male first name in Slavic, Polish and Russian languages. Since it is my last name, I looked further into the meaning and discovered that Blazej means "Blessed" in Ancient Russian and there is a whole town somewhere in what used to be Czechoslovakia where everyone has that last name. Since Russia dominated that area for about 1, 000 years, it makes sense that the origin is in the ancient Russian language.
