Doesn't even sound English. I think there is a word like this in some Indian language spelled differently. Besides, the name is very infantile indeed. Not something you want to be known by after turning 9.
My cousin, when he was little, could not pronounce my name Belinda correctly, and he ended up calling me Binda. The name morphed into Bindy over the years. To this day, little children continue to pronounce my name as such. And it has become such a popular phenomena, that I have friends and family who will also call me by Bindy as apposed to Belinda.
