I like this name. It has a nice meaning. Also the nickname Bertie is cute for a toddler, and the name Bertram (or even Bert) is wearable for a male of any age. If he doesn't care for Bert, he can go by Tram and always be answering the question, "Your name is Tram? Like a streetcar? Is your brother named Light Rail?"
There was an old Bug's Bunny cartoon where Bugs accidentally gets drafted into the army under the name "Bertram Bonny." Also in another episode I think he had an uncle named "Uncle Bertram Q. Bunny." Needless to say, I think of Looney Tunes when I hear this name.
Bertram Cates is the fictional character representing real-life John Scopes in the stageplay, Inherit the Wind, an interpretation of the historical Scopes trial.
Hogwarts student, 1970s. Sirius and James got in trouble for cursing his head to grow to twice its normal size.

The full first name of Bertie Wooster in the short stories and novels of P. G. Wodehouse. He's rather dim and has to depend on his valet Jeeves to help him out of troublesome situations.
