This is really more of a surname than a given (first) name, but it isn't bad for a boy's first name I guess. Although I kind of agree with the comments about leaving surnames as surnames. BENT in the US doesn't have the same meaning as the UK. So Benton or Bentley wouldn't have negative (dishonest) connotations here. And really people, we all have to just stop using derogatory names when referring to homosexuality. To say bent means to be a criminal/dishonest AND a homosexual is just wrong. Stop.

Just like Bentley, don't give your child a name that contains "Bent" in the title. It is a well-known slang for various of things. For example, it's slang for homosexual over in the U. K
1. To be dishonest or corrupt, often used in reference to a police officer. 2. To be at a stage of severe intoxication due to the use of narcotics and/or alcohol. 3. To be homosexual or effeminate in appearance or nature. 4. To get mad Ben, Benny, Benjamin are all fine. BENTley & BENTon: NO!

I full heartedly agree with the user directly above me. Any name with "Bent" in them is a TERRIBLE idea. Benton is no exception. Just DON'T do it!
Dr. Benton Quest is Jonny's father in the cartoon series Jonny Quest and The Real Adventures Of Jonny Quest.

This is a last name. I'm getting kind of tired of all these last names being used as first names (ie: Madison, cooper, Bentley, Mackenzie, Brady, Ryan, Tyler...)
