Benjamin Nawahi (1899 – 1985), known as "King" Bennie Nawahi, was an American steel guitarist from Hawaii who was popular in the U.S. during the 1920s and 1930s.
This is my youngest daughter's name, named after her dad. Too many people think I'm talking about a boy when I just mention her name lol. But it is also a girl's name, I guess it isn't that common though as a girl's name.

Also well used as a female name in the US from the 1800s to the mid 1900s.
I can only think of Bennie as a girl's name now because my best friend is named Benjamine and decided to spell it this way to differentiate from the many Benny boys that we know.
