My birth name is baekhap (백합) but it’s a very uncommon name where i live so i go by Becky. I reckon it’s a good nickname for other girls with the same name as me or similar! Though many people will think you’re a Rebecca.
I have always loved this name for a girl because it sounds so pretty. Contrary to the memes/stereotypes, the only Becky (who uses Becky as a full name) that I know is a black little girl; don’t be so quick to judge a name like that.
Becky Botsford, aka Wordgirl, from the PBS Kids show of the same name :)

Becky sounds like a homewrecker or trailer trash. Becca sounds better. Or better yet, just go by your full name--Rebecca. I knew 2 women named Becky who were both hovering around 300 pounds.

Terrible! Just use Becca; it's a whole lot prettier and mature.
No. Just no. No hate towards the name ‘Becky’ or ‘Becki’ likers, but this is currently my least favorite name. I really don’t like the ‘ck’ at the middle of it. It would be better as Bessie, and I don’t even like Bessie.

Becky is slang for a gay person in the Philippines. So that's kinda why I dislike it.
I don't know anyone who has this name but I've always thought it was really beautiful whenever I've heard it. As I said, neither I or anyone I know has this name, but I think it's lovely. I think more people should call their daughter's Becky. Just an outsider giving my opinion on the name.
My name is Becky... NOT Rebecca! I wish I had a nickel for every time I have been called Rebecca (by doctors, by the police, by a judge, etc.). Even if they're looking at the paper which asked for my given name as it appears on my birth certificate and can clearly see I wrote BECKY! My given name is Becky NOT REBECCA! I used to hate my name, but I love it now... just aggravating when people assume it's short for Rebecca. Lol.
I'm rather fond of the name Rebecca, I've been called Becky my whole life... I think it's disgusting that some rapper has made my name a reference to oral sex! I was named after my aunt, who was Rebecca and also called Becky, I'm from Texas, so I've been called Rebecca of Sunny Brook Farms... so dumb!
My name is Rebecca. I go by Becky and have a large variety of nicknames. The Rebeccas I've met are stuck up and materialistic. The Beckys I've met are friendly and cautious (I meet this description- though most would use the word 'shy', which I'm not). The Beccas are usually naive and stubborn. I haven't met anyone who has a different variation of the spelling that I'm aware of, but then I don't go around asking Becks of the world to spell their name for me.

I have always loved this name! It's cute and beautiful at the same time. I think of a smart upbeat person when I hear it. I have met a handful of people with this name (they range from ages 10 to late 50's) and they all seem to match this description. Love the formal name Rebecca too. A sweet timeless classic.

Becky was given to 40 baby girls born in the US in 2012 as a full name.
This name leaves me a bad impression, either I think about a country girl or Becky Conner the main character in Roseanne, who had gotten married young and lives in a dirty trailer.
I CAN"T BELIEVE NO ONE'S MENTIONED THIS! One of the characters in "The Sorcerer's Apprentice". She ends up changing the satellite so Dave can stop Morgana. She hosts her own radio show.
The name Becky is used as an urban slang term for a white girl. Usually derogatory. Can also be used to refer to the act of oral sex when performed on a man, due to the stereotype that white girls are the best at performing oral sex.

Becky sounds like Peggy, which is strange because Becky is a little girly sort of name and Peggy is an old lady name.

This name reminds me of an overweight barefoot lady with a tied at the boob check print shirt and cut-off fringy jeans and a redneck accent. My name is Rebecca and I much prefer Becca or Rebecca over BECKY OR BECKI.
My name is actually Becky, not Rebecca. So hence I do get really really annoyed by how often people called Rebecca shorten it to Becky because I'm not a fan of the name Rebecca and I get called it. :( But the name Becky is really good. ;)

I disagree with the person who said Becky was an overused name. This is the name I prefer to go by, and I don't know any other girls named Rebecca that like to be called Becky. Personally, I like being called Becky because it's less formal than Rebecca, and I just don't think Rebecca suits my personality as much.
My name is Rebekah but everyone has called me Becky since before I can remember, until my brother's friends started calling me Bex about 2 or 3 years ago now it seems like everyone is calling me Bex! But I do agree with one of the previous ones that it does sound like a farm/country girl name when it's spelled with a y.
This is how my name was spelled for twelve years of my life, until I decided in seventh grade that Becky just wasn't edgy enough for me. So, I changed the 'y' to an 'i'. A lot of people get it wrong by spelling it, "Beki," or "Bekki," and a lot of people still put "Becky," but most people say that there really is no other name that suits me as well as Becki does. Either way, Becky seems kind of farm-girlish to me.

I think Becky is very overused nowadays and I'm not really that keen on it. It suits my cat though who has the name.
