Beaumont Newhall (1908 – 1993) was an American curator, art historian, writer, photographer, and the second director of the George Eastman Museum. His book The History of Photography remains one of the most significant accounts in the field and has become a classic photographic history textbook. Newhall was the recipient of numerous awards and accolades for his accomplishments in the study of photo history.
I have to admit that I like this name a little, but I wouldn't use it. I think the boy would be made fun of. Plus, I'm not big on the nickname Beau/Bo. This one certainly sounds more sophisticated and mature, and it beats the tacky Beauregard. I've only heard of one Beaumont, and that would be Beaumont Hannant, an electronic music artist.
