Eh. This name is okay. I don't think the hate is warranted, even if I do think Bart Simpson is a bit of a brat. In all honesty, this name is more of that name that's hated because it's named after an annoying character, rather than the name actually being bad itself.
Come on, guys! This name deserves so much respect. People named Bart shouldn't care for their name being hated just because it rhymes with "fart" and even is associated with Bart Simpson. Yes, I can't imagine anyone below 40 with this name, but still think it has a strong vibe.
Well, I like the name Bart! It's short and simple, and not common, and kind of cute. :) And if my name was Bartholomew, I'm pretty sure I would drop the last seven syllables and go with something simpler, and that would frankly call for less ridicule, not more.
Oh man, do I hate this name! I don't want to express my anger towards it. Haha. That sounds devilish. But I really think Bartholomew sounds much more pleasant than BART. It's one syllable. I don't like one syllable names. Bart. Ugh. No thank you.
In addition to immediately making people think of Bart Simpson, this name is too close to 'fart' and 'barf'. It's an ugly name. The reason Matt Groening used it was that it's an anagram of 'brat'. So there.
I have a twin brother that is named, Bart. He was named after the football player Bart Starr. I actually love this name. He goes by Bart but his actual name is Barton.
Come on, seriously. Who would ever want to name their son something that rhymes with "fart" but is even uglier a word? Maybe someone who desperately wanted a daughter or something.
