When I hear this name, the first person that comes to mind is Syd Barrett. His real name was Roger Keith Barrett, and he was in the band Pink Floyd. He was originally the lead singer and guitarist for the band, but sadly he suffered from drug abuse, and the drugs he took made him go mad. They made him leave the band after recording just two albums with him. Many Pink Floyd songs written after this relate to him somehow, especially the album Wish You Were Here (all the songs are about him). He died on July 7, 2006. I mostly remember him as the genius who threw it away.
