Meaning & History

A fictional character created by J.R.R. Tolkien. Aulendil was the third child and the second son of Vardamir Nólimon, the short-reigning second King of Númenor.

The name Aulendil was a Quenya word that meant 'Devoted to Aulë'. It was also the same name that Sauron gave himself in the Second Age.
