I guess I don't hate it on a girl because it's so beautiful and very feminine for a girl. Then I prefer Augustine for a boy, though.
Augie, Aggie, Stine, Gina and Tina could be nicknames.
Augustine Albert, also known as Augustine Albert-Himm (1791 – after 1846) was a French opera singer who sang leading soprano roles at the Paris Opéra from 1806 to 1823. Amongst the many roles she created in their world premieres was the title role of Spontini's Olimpie. Born in Paris and trained at the Conservatoire de Paris, she was also a principal singer of the Chapelle royale until 1830. She was married to Albert, danseur noble of the Paris Opéra.
Augustine is the name of a recurring character in Taylor Swift’s album folklore. She is the titular character of the song August, and is the “other woman” in the song Betty. Her name was clarified by Swift in “Folklore: The Long Pond Sessions”. According to Swift, Augustine is meant to show “the idea that some bad villain girl in any type of situation that, like, takes your man is really a total myth because that's not usually the case at all. Everybody has feelings and wants to be seen and loved—and just like Augustine, that's all she really wanted too.”.

This is beautiful and elegant. Good for a little girl and a grown up woman.
Old fashioned names are becoming very popular for those who say it's too old fashioned. An old fashioned name is better than the modern made up names!
So beautiful.
Aw, I don't think it's old fashioned, and so what if it was? Old fashioned names sure are better than modern ones. This name is beautiful!
Seems too old fashioned for my taste.
The German pronunciation is ow-guws-TEE-nə. [noted -ed]
