This is such a cute spelling! I also like the original spelling, Aspen, but I also like Aspyn. I don’t know which spelling I like more. Aspyn looks like the way it is pronounced, which is probably how this respelling started. It’s also very common to have y's in names to replace an “e” or an “i”, changing the spelling, and this trend has been going on for quite some time. I know a 20 year old Aspyn, with this spelling, and it has become more popular since.

The tree is called *aspen*. It's an actual, recognizable word. I'm not even fond of Aspen as a name, but at least it's a real tree. What is this Aspyn nonsense?!?!
