Shoutout to Ash Williams, gotta be one of my favourite trans men.Ok ok ok but real talk I enjoy Ash as a name and definitely most of the permutations of it that I've encountered (e.g. Ashe, Ashley, Ashton, Ashur, etc.)

One of my best friends is named Ash. They chose it as they are trans so I think of this as a very trans guy name. I don't mean that in a bad way.

The name every 12-year-old chooses for their half-demon anime catboy OC.
Please, please, please, don't name your child Ash, Asher, Ashley, or anything with Ash in it. Your child will 100% be bullied for it. It's a name people constantly used as a stereotypical name for f-boys, frat boys, and emo boys. This comment is from a middle-aged teenager, and I can promise you that everyone I've ever met named Ash has been extremely annoying or gross.

Ash is a band from Downpatrick, Northern Ireland. There’s also Ash Bowie from the band Polvo.
My sister's name is Ash and she gets hated for it but she still continues being a tomboy and take it from me, I LOVE playing in the mud and going on my 4-wheeler, if somebody hates her name then they hate my name too, I'm Arrow and I love my sisters name.
My name is Ash and I’m a girl. People actually tell me I have a cool name pretty often. But I’m also greeted with more Pokémon references than the average person probably receives lol.
I love this name! It sounds strong, but a little spunky and fun. My husband and I are thinking of naming our son this.

Mary Kay Ash is the founder of the Mary Kay beauty company. Ash Adams is a film producer, Ash King is a musician, Ash Power is a war hero, Ash Stymest is a model and dates Johnnie Depp's daughter, Ash London is a radio host, Ash Wednesday would be good day to name someone Ash. Glen Ash was a war hero, comedian and actor in the 60s and 70s. Ash Bharj is a Bollywood star, the sitcom twins Mary Kate and Ashley, and James Ash of the band Rogue Traders,\.
This name doesn't even sound remotely feminine. I do think it could make an interesting male name though, only if it's used as a nickname for Asher or Ashton.

Easy spelling, one syllable (can't be shortened to anything you may not like) and handsome.
Oh, golly, I'll always love this name! It's handsome and awesome for a guy! :D Ash Ketchum will forever be the first thing I think of whenever I hear this name but I don't mind. :)

I think that this name is really nice for a boy and also for a pet gerbil it would do:) And that name sure makes my heart sing (especially the theme song of the first pokemon season).
Cute. But it does scream "Pokemon!" (gotta catch 'em all!... sorry). This can also be a nickname for Aisling (when it's pronounced CORRECTLY, a.k.a ASH-ling).
It's cool but all I think of when I hear this name is Ash Ketchum from Pokemon as I used to watch it all the time!

Ash is the name of the title character's son in Wes Anderson's film adaptation of Dahl's 'The Fantastic Mr Fox'. He's voiced by Jason Schwartzman.Ash is a really nice name for a boy, I also knew a girl called Ashlin at school, who was often nicknamed 'Ash'.
I'm not against using nouns as names, as many names are nouns in another language, or are derived from nouns in other languages, or even from a noun of the language the bearer speaks, but this sounds a bit weird as a name. Many people will assume it's short for Ashton or Ashley. It doesn't sound very mature on a grown-up. If you're going to use it, I'd say the name is better for a boy than a girl, but I don't really like this as a real name.
Aside from all the associations people have with video games, this is quite a nice name that I think is a bit underused, at least where I live.I do not think it well-suited to a girl, though I tend to think of Ashley as a masculine name, despite all the times I have seen it used as a girl's name. I think it quite odd how young girls are given boy's names so often.
