Arnaldo Tamayo Méndez is a Cuban military officer, legislator, and former cosmonaut, the first person of African heritage in space and the first person of both Latine and African descent to fly in space. In 1980, as a member of the crew of Soyuz 38, he became the first Cuban citizen, the first Latin American, the first person of African descent, and the first person from a country in the Western Hemisphere other than the United States to travel into Earth orbit.
Arnaldo Faustini (1872–1944) was an Italian polar geographer, writer, and cartographer. He is considered by some to be the first East European polar specialist. Born in Rome, he received his doctorate at the University of Rome at the age of 19. Faustini worked at a newspaper based in Rome as scientific editor. He had a special interest in polar subjects, and published 19 books on polar subjects in his native Italian. He also wrote numerous articles.
Arnaldo Maria Angelini (1909–1999) was an Italian engineer and Professor of Electrotechnics at the Sapienza University of Rome, known for contributions in the development of nuclear generating stations as well as hydro and pumped hydro stations, and the improvement of Italy's transmission and distribution systems.
Arnaldo Andreoli (6 August 1893 – 2 December 1952) was an Italian gymnast who competed in the 1920 Summer Olympics. He was born in Modena. He was part of the Italian team, which won the gold medal in the gymnastics men's team, European system event in 1920.
