Arlene is also used in Brazil as an English import. I don't think it's used in Portugal, though.
Could the usage category for this name be changed from Filipino to English (Filipino) please? I feel that would reflect the usage of the name in the Philippines more accurately, since this name is not etymologically of standard Filipino, Tagalog nor any Philippine language origin. Thank you.
Arlene = Is straightforward, neat sounding. A girlie girl name. She's probably smart. I think of maybe a pretty librarian look, and when the glasses come off and the hair goes down -- WATCH OUT! She's a joy! Nice name that's not super common. I like it quite a bit! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.

The name Arlene was given to 170 girls born in the US in 2015.
This name makes me picture a middle-aged woman with big, red hair, a lot of make-up, and a thick Southern drawl in her speech who spends her time watching sappy documentaries and soaps on TV. It doesn't sound like a very sophisticated name.
It is a nice name. It is my middle name, which I prefer to go by. You can have cute nicknames, like Arlii, or simply the whole name, Arlene. It is a very mature name, landing itself to matrons rather than children. Which is why I like the abbreviation Arlii for young crowds.
