Anya Taylor-Joy is an Argentine-American actress who starred in series and movies such as; Dune, The Queens Gambit, Furiosa: Mad Max, Emma (2020), and many more. I think she's beautiful, and she puts a good mark on the name.
Anya is also used as a Slavic diminutive of Anastasia/Anastasiya. A notable bearer of this name is Princess Anastasia a.k.a. Anya from Disney's Anastasia (1997 film). Please see the comment or below for another notable bearer.Source: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anastasia_(1997_film)
My name is Anna and I've always dreamed of changing my name to Anya. It's much less common where I live and I just like the look and sound of it so much more than Anna.

In positive opinion, I think it's so cute, very pretty and nice.
I think it can also be Romanian. I knew a girl with this name that was from Romania (she was also adopted, but I don’t think her name was changed when she got adopted).

This is my favorite name for a girl, and if I ever have a daughter, I'll be naming her Anya Carrie (Carrie after my mom). It's simple, beautiful, and easy to spell.

I find this name much prettier than "Anna", plus it has more character. Most Russian names are lovely in general. Anya is one of my favorites.
In 'Waiting for Anya' by Michael Morpurgo, the girl they wait for right through the book is named Anya. (Obviously, see the title). I also love this book and it makes a good association with the name Anya.
Anya Monzikova is a Russian-American model and actress. Monzikova was born in Vologda, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union. She lived in Russia up to the age of eight, when she moved to Florida. After she graduated from high school, she moved again to Los Angeles, California to pursue a career in acting. She currently is studying Wushu and taking stunt classes, so she can do her own stunts when she stars in an action movie.
To be quite honest, Anya sounds less like the name of someone who's strong and independent to me and more like someone who's sweet and innocent. This may be because of the term "An'ya" in Long Dau, which means "Hey!" and sounds cute especially when the "N" is emphasized; which is something I do by default when hearing this name.
I love to watch you cheer It’s been that way for half a year It’s like we belong So I wrote this song, yeah You’re my one My only AnyaThese are lyrics to an original song by a character in Degrassi (Sav). I love the name Anya. It's pretty and feminine, as well as strong and refined. I would definitely name my daughter (if I have one) Anya. Also, here are some cute combinations (the ones further up, posted by a certain Anonymous User, are also great): • Anya Rose • Anya Pearl • Carolyn Anya • Anya Kea (KAY-a).
Whenever I hear the name Anya, I think of Anya Koala. She's a cool person, and I think that maybe lots of people should check out her website! She's my friend, and she's awesome! I like her name.
Anya is a young woman residing in Harrogath (Act V, the special added-on act) in Diablo II: Lord of Destruction. She identifies items in Cain's place and will sell unidentified items. After beating the Act, she will personalize a weapon with the player's name.
Anya is my name, and I have always loved it! It is soft, easy to say, and not too long. Although, some people do have trouble pronouncing it; I get called 'AW-nya' a lot.
My name's Anna and I go by Anya about half the time. I think it's very sweet and would be lovely as a given name. I love that it works in many different languages.
Anya is a pretty name. I know it is a form of Anna. I also feel that it could still be used to honor Tanya or Tonya. I think that would be a cute way to honor those other names as well.

Anya Seton (1904-1990) was an excellent author of historical novels during the period 1941-1975. All of her books were bestsellers. She was christened Ann but adopted Anya as her pen name.
I think it's funny that people assume (because of Buffy) that Anya is a nickname for Anyanka. It would actually be the other way around. Anyanka would be a Russian pet form of Anya.
His name is Anoup. My name is Priya. If I have a baby girl I will name her ANYA. His first two words and my last two. Saw the meaning "Gracious" in Russian. The very mentioning of the name makes my lips curve to a heartfelt smile.
Judging by the steady increase in popularity, in conjunction with the years, it seems as though it is a direct realtion the the character ANYA from tv's Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Personally, after Willow, she was my favorite female character on the show. It is a beautifully exotic sounding name. Her full name on the show was ANYANKA, ans she was a vengeance demon-turned-human.
