Turkish name actually is not "Anil". It is unrelated to the Indian name and written with the special Turkish letter "ı" (i without a dot) instead of "i". It means "be remembered". [noted -ed]
It also means 'to be remembered' in Turkish. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/An%C4%B1l_(given_name)
Even though Anil sounds feminine in my opinion, it’s okay if Anila wants to be the feminine form. So? Jordan sounds unisex but it has a feminine form, Anil is on the same page! Anil sounds like a girl’s name yet Anila is a feminine form! I think it’s cute that way! I think Anila is cute as the feminine form of Anil and it does sound more feminine than Anil, obviously!
It's a good name. It is a Persian daughter name.
I had to add that Anil also has Azari-Turkish origins which is spoken in North-west of Iran. As I found on an Iranian name website (http://namefarsi.com/?p=4167/) Anil means famous, well-known and famed, and it's a female name.
Good name.
This is the name of the female protagonist in Michael Ondaatje's novel Anil's Ghost.
I don't think it as a connection to the word 'anal'. Maybe I've known him too long but he has the nickname 'Nino' so that could explain a lot. I like Anil - it's original but I see nicknames for it as being a bit thin on the ground, see? For me, a nickname means a lot.
The name Anil looks like the word "Anal". The definition of the word "Anal" is: relating to anus. This is a horrible name for an American child.
One of the names of Vishnu and also it means beginningless.
