Derived from the Greek adjective ἀνδρόβουλος (androboulos) meaning "of manly counsel, man-minded", which consists of Greek ἀνδρός (andros) meaning "of a man" combined with the Greek noun βουλή (boule) meaning "counsel, advice" as well as "will, determination".
