This name is best left to fairy tales. I can see the appeal but it just wouldn't work. Plus, it looks very bland and long written down.
Amaranta is a character in Gabriel Garcia Marquez' 1967 novel, "one Hundred Years of Solitude".
I love this name, it sounds very literary, almost fairytale-like.
It is also the name of a tree in Spanish, the Amaranto. The tree's name means gentle and good.
An ancient Greek name, Amaranta-e (f), Amarantos (m).
