Amaka

Amaka is a name given to female childern by the Ibo ethnic group in Nigeria, Africa. In itself, it means pretty, good or beautiful but it is usually the short form of names like: Nneamaka (which means mother is good/beautiful), Uzoamaka (good way/road), Ukamaka (it is good to talk/discuss), Nduamaka (life is good/beautiful), Nwamaka (a child is a good thing), the list is endless. I know because I am an Amaka too(Nneamaka). I studied literature in the University of Nigeria where I majored in Nigerian Traditional/Oral Literature.
