Meaning & History

A fictional character created by J.R.R. Tolkien. Almáriel was young woman of Númenor. Almáriel was a peer of Herendil, who was mocked by him with the nicknames Eärendel or Terendul. In fact, despite his royal blood, Herendil's peer accused him of being a "half-Noldo".

Almáriel means "blessed woman" in Quenya.
