Meaning & History
The first element of this name is derived from either the Greek adjective ἀλκμαῖος (alkmaios) meaning "young" or the Greek name Alkmene (see Alcmene). The second element is derived from the Greek noun ἀνήρ (aner) meaning "man". As such, this name is either a dithematic name that means "young man", or a rare trithematic name with a meaning along the lines of "man born under a strong moon".
