Alissa Yagi (八木 アリサ, Yagi Arisa), also known as Arisa Yagi, is a Japanese actress and model associated with Amuse, Inc. From 2008 to 2012, Yagi was an exclusive model for the pre-teen fashion magazine Nicola. Since 2012, she modeled exclusively for the magazine Vivi, and in 2014, she made her acting debut as Megumi Kitagawa in the live-action film adaptation of Say I Love You.
My first name is Alissa and honestly I personally don't like it. Don't get me wrong, it's a pretty name (both spellings Alissa and Alyssa, I have no preference either way). However, as someone with this name it's exhausting to tell people "it's not spelled with a Y", "there's two S's not one", and "no it's an A at the beginning, not an E". I've had people - teachers even, who see the correct spelling on their attendance sheet - spell my name wrong. Alyssa, Elissa, Alisa Allissa, Allisa, Elisa, etc. Not to mention the sheer amount of time people call me Melissa, Jalissa, etc. Don't even get me started on the time I've gotten confused with another Alissa or Alyssa (either spelling since they're pronounced the same typically speaking).
I got a legal name change away from this because I got tired of people calling me Melissa, Alison, and Alicia, got tired of the mispronunciation, and the misspelling. This name is an actual curse, thankfully names can be changed.
My favorite name as of right now! Love it! Alissa...it just looks so aesthetic. It sounds calm and pretty, and it looks better than Alyssa in my opinion. Alyssa looks wonderful too, but the "y" gets on my nerves because it pokes out. While Alissa has more symmetry. I like the sibling combination Alissa and Jonathan for brother and sister.
I used to know someone named Alissa and she was pretty cool and chill, she went by Lis which I think is a very cute nickname. Overall, I like this more than Alyssa. It's a nice name.

This is my name, and I’ve never liked it. It’s partly due to the fact it often gets misspelled. I also get called other names by people reading my name. The main reason is that it doesn’t suit me.
I love this name, it's light and flows off the tongue nicely. My good friend named Alissa goes by Ali (AL-ee), but I think Alissa works fine without the nickname also.
I like this name, it sounds sweet yet not too sweet. This is my friend's middle name and she uses it as a pen name because she doesn't like her first name.
