It's my nickname, but I wouldn't want it to be my whole name. It's so casual, which is what I like about it, but I use my formal name for anything important.

No. No. This shouldn't be a thing. Ali does not equal Allie. Please don't do this. It is very rude to the rich history of the name Ali. Especially since chances are, if you're naming your kid a diminutive of Alison, you're probably white.
