Aldus

Aldus Pius Manutius (Aldo Pio Manuzio; c. 1449/1452 – 1515) was a printer/ publisher who founded the Aldine Press (Venice). He helped to standardize use of punctuation such as the comma and semicolon; introduced a small portable book format, a forerunner of the paperback book; and commissioned cursive typefaces in Greek and Latin that are the first known precursors of italic type.

Aldus Roger (1915 – 1999) was an American musician. He was known for playing the Cajun accordion in southwest Louisiana. He was best known for his accordion skills and television music program.

Aldus Chapin Higgins (1872 – 1948) was an American lawyer, inventor, and businessman.
In 1901, while managing an electric-furnace plant in New York, Higgins invented a water-cooled electric-furnace in which alundum was made commercially. For this invention, he received the John Scott Medal and Premium Award from the City of Philadelphia in 1913.
