I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet but Aimo Koivunen, the Finnish soldier in the Continuation War who famously took 30 pills of meth and went on a (allegedly) two-week drug trip in the middle of Karelia's winter.
Also used separately as an Italian form of Haimo.
This name sounds a bit dorky and old fashioned to me, probably since the word has often been used (intentionally) in such ways around me. The Finnish name register shows that Aimo was most popular from the 20s to the 50s, which also explains the dated image I get.
Generous amount of what, exactly?
Pronounced as IE-maw.
Aimo Stefano Diana is an Italian footballer.
Aimo Maggi was an Italian painter of the Neoclassic periods.
Aimo Heilmann is a former freestyle swimmer from Germany, who won the bronze medal in the 4x200m Freestyle Relay at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia.
Aimo Johannes Lahti was a self-taught Finnish weapons designer.
I like this name a lot. The final "A" gives it a zippy sort of feel, the kind of name for someone really spirited and energetic.
